Allulose Simple Syrup for Cocktails
Simple syrup is the backbone of cocktail-making. A flavored latte from a coffee chain can have 40–60g of sugar. Allulose simple syrup eliminates every gram.
The Basic Recipe
Standard (1:1): 1 cup allulose + 1 cup water. Heat and stir until dissolved. Cool. Refrigerate.
Rich (2:1): 2 cups allulose + 1 cup water. Thicker, integrates better in cold drinks.
Shelf life: 4 weeks refrigerated. Add 1 oz vodka for 6+ weeks.
Why It Works
Allulose dissolves completely, has zero aftertaste, provides the same viscosity as sugar syrup, and its 70% sweetness is actually preferable in most cocktails (many classic recipes are oversweetened).
Classic Cocktails, Zero Sugar
Margarita: 2 oz tequila, 1 oz lime juice, 3/4 oz allulose syrup. Shake with ice, salt rim.
Mojito: Muddle mint with syrup and lime, add rum, top with sparkling water.
Old Fashioned: 2 oz bourbon, 1/2 oz allulose syrup, 2 dashes bitters, orange peel.
Whiskey Sour: 2 oz bourbon, 3/4 oz lemon, 1/2 oz allulose syrup, egg white optional.
Daiquiri: 2 oz rum, 1 oz lime, 3/4 oz allulose syrup.
Espresso Martini: 2 oz vodka, 1 oz espresso, 1/2 oz allulose syrup.
Flavored Syrups
All start with the base recipe plus:
- Vanilla: Split vanilla bean, steep 24 hours
- Caramel: Dry-cook allulose to amber first, then add water
- Ginger: Sliced ginger, simmer 5 minutes, strain
- Cinnamon: 3 cinnamon sticks, steep 24 hours
- Lavender: 2 tbsp dried lavender, steep 20 minutes (no longer), strain
